Sometimes, somethings have to be seen to believe it. Here is a story I want to share about a faithful donor who touched our hearts to fill them with humility.
This donor is a healthcare professional who is self-employed in the Vellore and Ranipet area. He is married with a family. He has been supporting the work of the Hope House for the past couple of years. Sometimes he just purchases items that the children need like soaps, shampoo sachets and stationary items etc. But for the past couple of months, he has done something I have never seen in my 19 years of working in the NGO sector.
In the month of November, he made 13 donations in total, and he sends them via Unified Payment Interface (UPI) but in the month of December he decided to kick it up a notch by making 22 donations in total.
In the month of November, the smallest of the 13 donations he gave was Rs. 50 and the largest donation he gave was Rs. 300 averaging at Rs. 83.84. In the month of December, the smallest of the 22 donations he gave was Rs. 50 and the largest donation he gave was Rs. 500 averaging Rs. 122.72. In November the total amount of donation was Rs. 1090 and in December, it is Rs. 2700.
As you may know by now that all our support comes from individual donors, and it is donors like this and YOU who make our work march forward. It truly humbled us to know that our donors are not necessarily individuals with deep pockets but ordinary individuals with deep desire to make a difference in the lives of the marginalized children. This thought we couldn’t take it lightly but remind ourselves of the sense of responsibility to be judicious in all our expenses to ensure that we do justice to not only to our beneficiaries but to our faithful donors as well.
As we completed another calendar year, I want to take this opportunity to wish you a blessed new year and say a big thank you for all that you do in thought and deed. If you live anywhere nearby, I also want to extend an open invitation for you to come by to see the work that is going on. It would be our honor to host you. God bless.
