Hope House conducts weekly online general knowledge quiz but considering the importance of Diwali, we decided to partner with a local business in Vellore (B&B Builders) to give away Rs. 20,000 as prize money along with certificates.
This is how it works: Diwali online general knowledge quiz will be released on 27th of October and it will remain active till November 10th. Participants can take part in one of the two categories (adults (>18 yrs.)/ children (<18 yrs.)). Our quizzes don’t test the participant’s current level of knowledge, but we hope to prepare them for the future. That means, participants are allowed to use any tool out there to get a maximum score. It's like an open book test where you know that the answer is there, but you have to search to find the correct answer. It is our hope that this process of searching is what will expand the horizon of knowledge for the participant.
Cash prizes (restricted to Vellore and Ranipet district participants) are given as Rs. 2000 each for five children and equal number of adults but the digital certificates are given for all the participants from any part of India.
If you’re interested in giving this gift of knowledge to a child, this is what you can do: You take the current week’s quiz (use it as a sample quiz) and help your child also to take it. When you help your child, ensure that you don’t give away the answers outright but guide them in the right direction so that they search for the information with correct queries. Diwali quiz is going to be in the similar format like this week’s quiz and when it is released at this link on the 27th, try solving it to submit.
We release general knowledge quiz every Sunday and you and/ or the child can take the quizzes every week to expand the horizon of knowledge. Happy quizzing.
